Wow, Sony really did it this time! They produced a point-and-shoot that can pump out up to a 13.6 megapixel image! That's a 4224 x 3168 resolution! This is especially great for making up for the common lack of zoom on point-and-shoot digital cameras. With this camera, you can crop out just over half to end up with a 6 megapixel image, which is perfectly good for making prints. This camera also includes face detection for those group-photos. This means that it can detect the faces of who ever is in the photo, and adjust settings accordingly so that the photo will come out a good as possible. Below is the face detection in-action:In addition to the face detection, there is also anti-shake! This means that the camera moves the sensor inside in order to improve the sharpness of your photos. (To see some other photos taken with this camera, check here.) Have you ever tried to take a photo in a darkened area without using flash? Most of the time it will come out a bit fuzzy, due to hand tremors (These are unavoidable, as they are caused by your heartbeat). However, with this camera, you don't have to worry about hand tremors as much because the camera will auto-compensate for them.
Another nice feature on this camera (Just packed with extra features!) is that it can auto-compensate for the zoom. What I mean by this is that if you set the camera's digital zoom method to "Smart," then your digital zoom will be adjusted to whatever megapixel you have it set to, so that quality is preserved. Say that you have it set to 13.6 MP resolution - You won't get any digital zoom. However, set it to 10 MP resolution in this mode, and you will get roughly 3.6x digital zoom. A very handy feature, and a nice way to use the megapixels.
I personally found some great deals on this camera on eBay, click here to see the best prices I found.
